A group of tram car enthusiasts in Leeds are working to restore the only surviving Leeds Horse Tram which was built in 1898, to running order so that it may once again carry passengers.

The car is owned and the project is being financed entirely by the Leeds Transport Historical Society. For information about the Society go to http://www.lths.org.uk/

The website is being constructed by a complete amateur and more content and features will be added as soon as his aged brain learns how to make features work.

Here a car of the same batch as 107 ascends Woodhouse Lane towards where the University is now. The 3 normal horses and an additional 'trace horse' are being used to get the full load of 34 passengers up the steep hill. At the top the 'trace horse' will stop and unhook.

Follow the progress of the project by viewing the pages listed on the sidebar which will be updated as the project progresses. Hopefully regular updates will appear after each Wednesday working party.
